Musician Evolution: They Used To Sound Like What?

Ginger Baker’s Jazz Confusion played a sold out XRT show at City Winery last night. A couple hours after the show wrapped, I heard from an XRT listener who clued me in that show was a killer. She described the band as having a West Coast jazz feel, world music beats, and a bit of swing. In her words: “…there was nothing but superhuman musicianship on stage.” What a far cry from “Disreali Gears” and “Wheels of Fire!”
