Arguably, Jeff Lynne’s greatest attribute is his incredibly distinct sound. It transcends his work with ELO and comes to define his second solo album, Long Wave, out today. And make no mistake, that is no easy feat, as Long Wave is a covers album.

R.E.M.’s Peter Buck Releasing Vinyl-Only Solo Album This Friday

This Friday, R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck will release his first solo album, following the group’s disbanding in 2011. However, only 2,000 lucky fans will be able to get their hands on the limited-edition, vinyl-only release.

On The Charts: Dylan Debuts Top 5, ZZ Top 10

Following last week’s goldmine of new music from legacy artists, we’re finding a few familiar faces at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. Bob Dylan’s latest, “Tempest,” debuts high – No. 3 – while ZZ Top scores its highest album debut ever, coming in at No. 6 with “La Futura.”
