Let’s See Action: With schools cutting arts programs, it’s time to move from feeling helpless to stepping up as the adults in the room to make opportunities for the next generations. I’ve always known XRT listeners to be generous with their time, talent and treasure. Please join me in this effort to make a difference. This is a call to action. [Get Involved]

Terri Previews Day One Of The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

Day one for the 2015 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is coming up this Friday. Can’t wait! Let’s not dwell on the weather forecast…just remember to bring a rain poncho and wear shoes you don’t expect to wear to dinner later that night. Or shoes you don’t have a sentimental attachment to. Watch the Woodstock movie. You might get some survival tips. But let’s look at the music lineup at this amazing annual musical event. The music starts at 11 AM and they shut down at 7 PM. That’s brilliant because you don’t have a gazillion drunks hanging out at the fairgrounds after dark. The crowd spreads out over the city, and if you are civilized, you might even make time for a shower and a power nap before heading out for dinner and a club. Each day we’ll go stage by stage and I’ll give you some tips. If you’re going, print and pack. And watch the videos before you leave town. You might find a musical surprise that will change your life.
