‘I Am Trying to Break Your Heart’ – Wilco – Thursday, September 29th @ 7:30pm

‘I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco’ documents the band while they working on Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. The film is shot in black-and-white by director Sam Jones, who also took the iconic photograph of Chicago’s Marina City that was used on Yanke Hotel Foxtrot’s album cover. ‘I Am Trying to Break Your Heart’ also captures Wilco’s performance at XRT’s Free Fourth of July Concert at Taste of Chicago that year, with brief cameos by Lin Brehmer and Frank E. Lee.

‘The Last Waltz’ – The Band – Wednesday, November 16th @ 7:00pm

We’re capping off this year’s series by celebrating the 40th Anniversary of The Band’s classic performance at Winterland Ballrooom on Thanksgiving Day in 1976! Directed by Martin Scorsese, ‘The Last Waltz’ is considered one of the greatest concert films ever recorded. In addition to stellar performances by members of The Band, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, Robbie Robertson, and Rick Danko, they’re also joined by a pantheon of rock and roll greats throughout the film, including: Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Neil Young, Van Morrison, The Staples Singers, Joni Mitchell, and Dr. John.

THIS FILM SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD!
