 Stephen Sheffer
Hello, I am Stephen Sheffer, and I have the honor of being a web and music programming intern for the spring semester of 2013. I am currently a senior at Columbia College Chicago, where I major in news-reporting and writing. There I have written about current events, sports, music and movies. I am very passionate about music, and I have been listening to XRT since my freshman year of high school. My love for music started in middle school in my hometown, Mundelein, Illinois. Many kids in my class were talking about a new rap album that Eminem released. When my parents decided the CD was not appropriate for me, my Dad said I should give his music collection a shot.  Dan Shearer
Hey There, I’m Dan Shearer, a new face here at XRT. I just joined the ranks of the 2013 Spring XRT interns and I hope to make a splash with my contributions to the social media department. I’m currently a Junior at Columbia College Chicago where I’m studying Radio Broadcast. Columbia has presented me with an incredible amount of opportunities (Including this one) and I’ve never been so excited about having so little free time. I made the move to Chicago almost four years ago to study history, international studies, and musicology at Northwestern University. Hey! My name is Becky Nystedt and I’m currently a senior Radio Broadcasting/Marketing major at Columbia College Chicago, and 93XRT’s newest Spring 2013 programming intern! Hey there, I’m Lauren Davis— born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. Unfortunately Nashville did not give me a southern accent or cowboy boots but it did give me a love for music because hey, it is Music City after all! Hola! My name is Janell Nunziato and I am currently a sophomore Broadcast Journalism student at Columbia College Chicago. I also happen to be one of the newest spring ’13 interns for the Web and Music-Programming departments here at 93XRT! I am so excited for this opportunity to intern for one of Chicago’s oldest and most-loved radio stations! My very first experience within the radio world begins at Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal where I contributed to the News and Sports team for the student-run radio station, 103.3WZND. Hey, my name is Jon Torres and I am the newest addition to the promotions internship program at 93XRT. I couldn’t happier about this opportunity to be involved with the best radio station in Chicago. XRT has been in my life since my freshman year of high school. I owe so much of my knowledge about music to the station and without it, I wouldn’t be the devoted music listener that I am today. Mornings with Lin and Mary, Jason Thomas in the evenings, Terri Hemmert on Breakfast with the Beatles and (when it was around) the Grateful Dead hour on Sunday nights is what kept me a loyal listener. Sean McEntee here. I’m a news writing intern for the morning show at XRT and a junior broadcast journalism student at Columbia College Chicago. Before moving to Chicago in July 2011, I was attending the University of Maryland, where I had my first experience in radio co-hosting an alternative rock show at WMUC 88.1 FM. Additionally, for the past two years I’ve worked as a writer, editor, social media manager and now editor in chief for LiveMusicGuide.com.
