Attorney General Jeff Sessions – News With Mary Dixon

UPDATE: President-elect Trump has offered the attorney general’s job to Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL). He advocates mass deportations of undocumented residents, restricting legal immigration and rescinding birthright citizenship. He is pro-life, opposes marriage equality, and was denied a federal judgeship in the ’80s because of racially insensitive remarks that included calling the ACLU and NAACP un-American for trying to force civil rights down peoples’ throats. Trump has offered the CIA Director’s post to Congressman Mike Pompeo (R-KS) – who’s a fierce critic of the Iran nuclear agreement. The National Security Adviser’s position has been offered to retired General Michael Flynn, who’s been very critical of the Obama administration’s tactics against the Islamic State, tweeted in February that the fear of Muslims is rational, and advocates closer relations with the Kremlin.

President Obama is meeting with European leaders in Berlin … Hundreds of workers at O’Hare International have voted to go on strike ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend … Thousands of unionized state employees demonstrated yesterday, in an effort to get Governor Rauner back to the negotiating table on a new contract … Rauner and Mayor Emanuel are among those in Rome for the elevation to Cardinal for Chicago’s Archbishop Cupich … The Cub’s Kris Bryant is the National League’s most valuable player … the Bulls won in Utah …. It’ll be cloudy and windy with a chance of rain this afternoon and temperatures in the mid-60s … but they’re gonna fall, and there’s a chance of snow overnight.
