President-elect Donald Trump says his supporters should stop their racist attacks and that his critics should not be afraid. In his 60 Minutes interview, Trump suggested he wants to appoint a Supreme Court judge who will overturn Roe-v-Wade but not marriage equality. Trump has appointed Republican party chair Reince Priebus as his chief of staff and Stephen Bannon as his chief strategist. Bannon headed Breitbart – a haven for white nationalism and sexism. The late Andrew Breitbart described Bannon as ‘the Leni Reifenstahl of the Tea Party movement.’  The Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League and the Council on American-Islamic Relations are among those raising alarms. Anti-Trump protests continued in Chicago and around the country over the weekend … Swedish prosecutors are questioning Wikileaks founder Julian Assange about sexual assault claims against him … Chicago police and federal authorities boosted patrols on the South and West sides while more than 30 people were shot … Illinois House Speaker Madigan is blowing off an invitation to meet with Governor Rauner … Two people have died in earthquakes in New Zealand … The Bears lost in Tampa … the Blackhawks won at home … It’ll be partly sunny today with a high in the upper-50s.
