It’s been a while since I posted, what with all of the recent signs of impending doom and all. It’s a weird feeling to go on-air and talk about music and concerts and all things good when you’re screaming inside. But there’s a time and a place to take action, and I won’t pollute our dear airwaves and website with my own political two-cents. Instead, it’s best to serve as a refuge from the madness. For our sanity.
There’s so much hate and anger floating around right now, so how about a few minutes for some love?
I hear love in the melodies in this song:
“Sarah” – Alex G
I love these wiener dogs.
There’s a new artist I love, Lucy Dacus. The vulnerability in her voice is chilling. Check out this one:
“I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” – Lucy Dacus
I love a hot bowl of chili on a cold fall evening. Try out this recipe for Quinoa Chili – it’s amazing.
I love my Irish background.
“I’m A Man You Don’t Meet Everyday” – The Pogues
Here’s a compilation of babies finding dogs very funny:
I love the way Bob Dylan fumbles the words of “Crazy Love” in this recording with Van Morrison:
“Crazy Love” – Van Morrison and Bob Dylan
I am predicting there will be a lot of love and fun at the Music Box Theatre this Wednesday evening. The XRT / Goose Island Music In Motion Film Series will be presenting The Band’s “The Last Waltz” at 7:30 pm. Take a load off, Fanny.
And finally, I hear love in this song:
“At My Most Beautiful” -R.E.M.
We can’t forget to love.
