President-Elect Donald Trump – News With Mary Dixon

Donald J. Trump has won the electoral votes necessary to win the White House, including the swing states of Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He spoke around 2 a.m. … Hillary Clinton, who has won the popular vote, is expected to speak publicly this morning. Asian and European stock markets and US stock futures have rebounded a bit after an overnight plunge. Some European leaders are registering shock while the chiefs of the EU and NATO and Russian president Vladimir Putin have extended their congratulations, as has former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke.

Republicans maintain their majorities in Congress — with Senate wins in Indiana and Wisconsin … In Illinois, Democrat Tammy Duckworth beat Senator Mark Kirk … Dems Brad Schneider and Raja Krishnamoorthi won suburban congressional races … and Democrat Susana Mendoza has won the state comptroller’s race. Republicans picked up three seats in the Illinois House

The Cubs’ Jason Heyward and Anthony Rizzo have won Gold Glove honors … The Blackhawks play tonight in Saint Louis and the Bulls are in Atlanta … It’ll be partly cloudy today with highs in the mid-50s.
