Mighty excited to give a spin to The Flat Five‘s debut platter, It’s A World Of Love and Hope, out today on Bloodshot. Album of the year? Not many have put out anything nearly this good outside of Whitney. You be the judge. Casey McDonough and Alex Hall of The Flat Five will be my guest on NEXT Sunday night’s Anesthetic. I also like this new side from Chicago trio, Glass Mountain. Not sure where Gramps the Vamp came from (or, even where they’re coming from) but it all works for me on their new The Cave Of 10,000 Eyes. Silly guys. Pool Holograph features Jake and Paul Stoltz, on loan from Varsity. Town Quarry is their new EP. Couple of good gigs with them to tell you about, too. Finally, Frey Geoffreux has a cool little tune I like called “Little Sparks” that I’ll give a spin. Hey, wait! Not finally! I’m also going to knock out a tune from the Distant Brothers‘ newest Upon Our Arrival. Is that about it? Looking like it. We’ll see. New Chicago music on Local Anesthetic this Sunday night at 7:30 here on XRT.
