For 57 years Ireland has been celebrating the extension of Irish culture and heritage around the world through the Rose of Tralee International Festival. Located in County Kerry, Ireland, one of the features of the festival is the selection of the Rose of Tralee, which highlights 64 accomplished young women of Irish descent from across the globe.
Now let’s cut to the chase – Maggie won!
After being selected as the Chicago Rose earlier this Summer, Maggie McEldowney took home the Gold last night in Kerry. Hailing from Beverly, Maggie works at Marist High School as the Director of Development and is on the Board of the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago. She has also been known to enjoy a Guinness or two.
Maggie is the third Chicago Rose to win the International Title and the first in 29 years.
Congratulations Maggie! You’ve made Chicago proud!
