An Awesome Meteor Shower Is Set To Take Place Tonight, Here’s How To Watch

The Perseid Meteor Shower takes place on a yearly basis, but the 2016 iteration promises to be a much better sight than in years past.

According to NASA, the yearly meteor shower takes place when the Earth passes through a trail of debris left behind by an ancient comet. This year, the Earth will pass through a denser part of the debris stream causing people to see almost double the normal amount.

If you’re in the Chicagoland area, you’re best bet is to take a drive away from the city where you won’t get any interference from light pollution. Be sure to start watching around 9 PM CST tonight with the Perseids being best viewed between 3 AM and dawn.
