Nope, there’s no one named Marian Hill in the electronic duo… the two reveal what inspired their name

The duo that goes by Marian Hill are actually Jeremy and Samantha – no Marian to be found. The two have known each other since middle school and performed together in a production of Music Man, in which Samantha played Marian the librarian and Jeremy played Harold Hill. Jeremy then explained to Marty Lennartz while they both knew of each other, once they realized they were both pursuing music post-college it was a natural progression that led them to their newfound success.

Lennartz later mentioned their “super secret weapon,”sax player Steve David. Jeremy said so much of what Marian Hill does is acoustic meets electronic, which is why the addition of David – who adds colorful texture to their sound – “felt like the perfect way to establish that.”
