Out Of This World! Jack White And Third Man Records Want To Play The First Record In Space

Third Man Records is aiming to go where no vinyl has ever gone before.

On July 30th, Third Man Records will celebrate their 7th anniversary by attempting to play the first ever phonographic record in space. Carl Sagan’s “A Glorious Dawn” will be the record spun in space, which Third Man notes is the 3 millionth record they’ve pressed.

If you’re in Nashville or Detroit, Third Man Records will be holding a viewing party at those locations on July 30th where you can watch a recording of the endeavor take place.

Here’s a preview of how it’s going to work.
