Len & Lennartz: Cubs Run Through Rangers to Begin Tough 2nd Half [Listen]

The Cubs came off the All Star break to take 2 of 3 from the American League-leading Texas Rangers. Yesterday’s game against Cole Hamels was basically a reprise of his last outing at Wrigley last year when he no-hit the Cubs, as he struck out the first 6 Cubs batters he faced on Sunday. Len’s broadcast partner Jim Deshaies actually holds the record (tied with Jacob deGrom) for most consecutive strike outs to start a game at 8. The Cubs must now run the gauntlet of excellent Mets pitching as they come to town armed with Matz, Thor & Bartolo to try to get some payback for the throttling they received last time out in New York.

Len Kasper joins Lin Brehmer (or Marty Lennartz as is the case today) on the XRT Morning Show at 8:30am Mondays & Fridays as this historic Cubs season reaches its midpoint. Len & Lin: never letting the pressure exceed the pleasure, on 93XRT.
