Judge Rules Wicker Park’s Double Door Must Vacate Its Space

Iconic Chicago music venue Double Door is forced to close its doors after a judge ruled that it must vacate the building it occupies.

The Chicago Tribune reports that a Cook County Circuit Judge ruled the venue must vacate the property because management failed to properly notify its landlord last year it wished to extend its lease. Double Door management and landlord Brian Strauss will return to court on August 4th to determine when the club must leave the building.

The club and landlord had been engaged in a lengthy legal battle before today’s ruling came down.
