UPDATE: Five Dallas police officers are dead. Seven officers, including a transit officer, are injured as are two civilians. They were targeted last night during a demonstration against police brutality. The Dallas police chief says one suspect expressed anger about the police shootings of black men and about wanting to kill white officers. That man was killed by a robotic bomb after a standoff.
Similar anti-brutality demonstrations were held around the US, including Chicago, last night. NOW: Chicago police plan to work in pairs to enhance visibility and safety. The family of at least one of the black men killed by police this week, Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, LA, says they reject these reprehensible acts of violence.
