New Ezra Furman And More New Chicago Music On Sunday Night’s Anesthetic

I typically just give the above banner (headline or billboard or whatever) a “New Chicago Music On This Sunday’s…” without mentioning any particular artist whose new music will be featured. As a matter of fact, I’ve never done that. This week, tho, we got something special in the way of Perpetual Motion People from Ezra Furman and, man, does it make me smile. Ezra is a clever and often surprising songwriter, blessed with a band capable of pulling off his ideas. Have I ever used the word “marvelous” to describe anybody’s work since I started writing this blog? Consider it used now and a with a capital M. Marvelous, Mr. Furman. I’m also digging in a big way the debut long player from Negative Scanner. They’ll be my gust on NEXT Sunday night’s show but I’ll give you a preview of what all the buzz is about this week. What else? Hey, it’s the Thursday before a three-day weekend and I’ve got a long list of things to get done before the day is over. Let me just say you can also expect fine new tracks from fellow Chicago musicians such as Smoker, B Forrest, The Bishop’s Daredevil Stunt Club, Hidden Hospitals and I’m weighing what my last track will be. Regardless, be here for a total blast of New Chicago Music on Local Anesthetic, Sunday night at 7:30 here on XRT.
