Grateful Dead Drummer Bill Kreutzmann Set to Release Memoir
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Grateful Dead. And while a traditional reunion is impossible since the death of Jerry Garcia, the band is planning a number of alternative ways to mark the occasion, including a three-day run this summer in Chicago with Phish’s Trey Anastasio as the frontman at the Soldier Field location that they played their final show with Garcia.
In addition, a new announcement has come that drummer Bill Kreutzmann will release a memoir this year titled Deal: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams, and Drugs with the Grateful Dead.
And while the alliterative name leaves little for the imagination as far as the general idea of the memoir, the book is said to feature 416 pages of story, with rare photos and cover artwork by artist Stanley Mouse.
The book is set to hit stores on May 5 via St. Martin’s Press.
