Local Anesthetic Playlist For Oct. 6, 2013 [Playlist & Free Download]

“Sprawling” isn’t the correct word to use for Old Shoe‘s new set, Family, because sprawling connotates a lack of direction and meandering flows of music. Ok, there’s a touch of the latter on here but the semi-extended jams don’t over stay their welcome and pleasantly serve the songs when and as needed. That’s a trick in itself and just one of the reasons I like this record a bunch. Old Shoe release Family with a really big shoe (Thanks! You’re a good crowd!) at Martyr’s this Friday night. Get a taste of the disc as part of this show of new Chicago music on last night’s Local Anesthetic at the link below. We also heard from Ezra Furman‘s new side, Day of the Dog. Ezra is hitting some kind of stride with this record and “My Zero” is all the way tasty. We also heard new music from Oshwa, Temple, The Noise FM and Chris Tiritilli. All in all, I dug this show and hope you’ll do the same. All on the link below. Thanks for listening.
