Twas The Night Before Lollapalooza
Twas the night before Lolla, when all through the grounds
Not a band was stirring, not even The Courtyard Hounds.
The food booths in Chow Town were stocked full of grub,
So you won’t go hungry during The Two Door Cinema Club.
Festival goes were nestled all snug in their beds,
While St. Lucia and Knife Party raged in their heads.
Lana Dey Ray in her blue jeans, and Chance about to rap,
That small hill next to the main stage, is a perfect place to nap.
The Killers headline Friday, and Nine Inch Nails too,
Mumford and Postal on Saturday?! This lineup is cruel .
How can we choose, between Phoenix and The Cure?
No matter the schedule, I’ll be at Imagine Dragons, for sure.
The moon shined bright on Buckingham Fountain below
And made stages Bud Light, Pertillo, and Perry’s aglow.
When, when all of the sudden, wouldn’t you know,
Smith Westerns and Hot Chip showed up, for a pre-Lolla show.
Frightened Rabbit joined in and wanted more than the fest,
So they signed on to play Saturday night at Park West.
You want to see an after show, but it’s so hard to pick,
Might we suggest The Lumineers, Friday night at The Vic?
For dream pop see Beach House,
For Canadian electro, head to Bear Mountain.
When you get separated from your friends,
Remember EVERYONE is going to “meet at the fountain”.
Canadian indie can be plenty of fun.
So grab a slice of deep dish and enjoy it during Half Moon Run.
A Cream Puff of Doom will go nicely with Pacific Air.
Add a beer from Goose Island and you’ll lose every care.
Look out and make way, for the British invasion.
Ellie Goulding and The Vaccines for a new generation.
With so much to see, you feet may start to drag,
Check our Reignwolf on Saturday, to cure the mid-Lolla lag.
For Chicago-grown tunes, your options are swell.
There’s The Orwells and Stratus and even Wild Belle!
73 and sunny is a mighty fine weekend temp.
Celebrate with some Brazilian rap rock, courtesy of Planet Hemp.
If you don’t see a band here, that you think is “the bomb”

As the weekend is upon us, all of the festival veterans cry,
“Happy Lolla to all, and wear sun screen- don’t fry!”
