Pearl Jam’s grunge masterpiece and debut album Ten joins the elite 10-million seller club this week, making it the 22nd album to cross the elusive threshold since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data back in 1991.

“I’m happily shocked to hear that. Wow,” guitarist Mike McCready told Billboard. “We had no idea that it was ever going to do that well. I just felt like it was a really cool record and that I was in a good band.”

Breaking records isn’t all Pearl Jam is up to this year. The band also has a new studio album in the works, it’s first since 2009’s Backspacer, along with concert dates for summer 2013.Pearl Jam is the most recent band deemed with a Diamond-selling status and the others who share the rank are quite surprising — see for yourself!
