If you go way back with Death Cab For Cutie, then you know all about Ben Gibbard‘s side project, The Postal Service. Ben, along with Jimmy Tamborello, released an album back in 2003 (Give Up) loaded with electro-pop gems like, “Such Great Heights,” and “Nothing Better.” For years and years, fans of the lone album from The Postal Service have been asking Ben if there will ever be new material from the band, and for a while there it seemed as if the answer was a big, fat, “NO.” Well, never say never. The Postal Service will be releasing a 10th Anniversary Edition of Give Up on April 9 and included in the package are two new songs, one of which is posted below. They’re scheduled to play Coachella with some west coast tour dates leading up to the festival appearance in April. Also on the docket are some European shows in the spring, but nothing announced for Chicago as of right now. While we wait for an appearance from Ben and Jimmy, we’ll just dig on this new track for a while. “A Tattered Line of String” features Jenny Lewis, who also contributed to Give Up back in the early ’00s…
