When I saw the cover for the new Phoenix album that will be released in April, I got that deja vu all over again feeling.
Then the next thing that jumped into my mind’s eye (which is a scary place to be) with the cover of the legendary Allman Brothers Band album Eat A Peach.
But can I stop there? Of course not. The mind reels. Fruity album covers. Of course there’s Andy Warhol’s famous banana for Velvet Underground and Nico.
And being a Procol Harum geek since 1967, had to remember the album Exotic Birds and Fruit. Any excuse to listen to Gary Brooker.
And how can I fit Carmen Miranda in the same blog with The Allman Brothers? Piece of cake (ooooo. No. I’ll save that for another day. The cake thingy.)
Was Carmen Miranda ever on Sesame Street? Shoulda been. Fresh fruits have made it to the street.
And before they come and take me away, don’t forget the Beatle’s record label….wait for it…APPLE. First Beatle release on the new label was number one with a bullet.
OK. That’s enough. Gotta go work on the cake theme….
