With a classic tale of rapper turned farmer turned world voyager turned singer-songwriter, Colyn Cameron’s eclectic past has contributed to his promising and worthwhile debut EP Wild Country, which is available nationwide today. Personal travel experiences drive Wild Country, and with tracks titled “Seaside” and “Wild Country” there is ambient, honest emotion about Cameron’s vocals and lyrics.
Cameron told Vagrant “I was really focused on just creating recordings I could be proud of and felt connected to as a group of songs. I wanted to capture and represent, in all its instrumentation and arrangement, what those songs mean to me.” Judging by Wild Country’s five tracks, there is much more to come from Cameron, and much more anticipate from this emerging artist.
Wake Owl will arrive in Chicago on February 17th, 2013 at the Old Town School of Folk Music.
