“Let The Day Begin” is a rousing XRT classic that some of us have adopted as a theme. The Call released that song in 1989 following a decade in which tracks like “Walls Came Down,” “Everywhere I Go,” and especially “I Still Believe” received signficant airplay and love. It was the power of Michael Been’s voice that first drew us in. Imagine our surprise back in 2001 when we learned that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s frontman and bassist Robert Been is the son of Michael. Michael Been became a sound engineer for his son and died backstage in 2010 while working with BRMC.
The new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album, Specter at The Feast, comes out March 19th. Their first single is a tribute to Robert’s Dad, a cover of “Let The Day Begin.”
