Dave Grohl has a special attachment to Sound City, a recording studio in Southern California. He, Kurt and Krist laid down Nevermind there in 1991, and Dave also happens to be the owner of the recording console that was once housed there. Dave has such a fondness for the place he decided to put together a documentary telling us why it’s so special and it seems like he didn’t have too much of a problem when it came to enlisting other famous rock ‘n’ rollers to share their stories about the place, as you’ll see in the video below. Sound City will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next month and if you’re not planning on being in Park City yourself, I’m sure you’ll be able to see it soon enough. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the latest and greatest with Sound City and when it’ll be “in a theater near you.”
