Lolla Look Back: 1991, The First Festival
Lollapalooza is a very well known music festival that people travel long distances to expose themselves to new and unique artists that is now held in Chicago. Lollapalooza wasn’t always held in Chicago, in fact lolla used to be a traveling music festival. Lollapalooza has changed drastically in many other ways throughout the years.
This festival was born with an idea from Perry Farrell to have a farewell show for the band.
Held in Phoenix, Arizona on July 18, 1991 and the line-up included Jane’s Addiction, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Nine Inch Nails, Violent Femmes and others.
Lollapalooza started as a concert with a few bands performing. Slowly but surely it escalated into a huge music festival that many people look forward to every summer!
