Reporting Zack Nechvatal

David Bowie has been something of a recluse in recent years, but his record label has mined his catalog with a number of deluxe reissues. The latest archival release will be a 40th anniversary edition of his 1972 classic The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars, which was released June 5. The band on the album featured legendary guitarist Mick Ronson, bassist Trevor Bolder, drummer Mick Woodmansey and on keyboards, Rick Wakeman of Yes.

The 40th anniversary edition has been newly remastered and is now available on CD and in limited on vinyl. The reissue doesn’t feature any previously unreleased tracks, but there are going to be some new 5.1 mixes.

Other Bowie albums to slotted for upgrades include 1967′s David Bowie and 1976′s Station To Station, while the bootleg Live In Santa Monica ’72 (recorded at the beginning of the Ziggy Stardust tour) recently got an official release.
