The Black Keys continue their epic march through 2012 with an intimate new music video for “Little Black Submarines,” the latest single from 2011’s El Camino.
The gritty, no-nonsense clip was filmed in Nashville dive bar the Springwater Supper Club, with Dan Auerbach, Patrick Carney and their touring band blasting through the song in front a tiny (and very lucky) audience of less than 100 friends and fans.
“We all just sort of kind of mutually agreed that it should probably just be the performance and not any of the other extra stuff,” Auerbach told Rolling Stone. “We just sort of said ‘You know, it was fun kind of performing here at a small club with the fans. Why don’t we just have it be that?’”
Even better for the select few chosen for the video shoot: They were treated to an entire Black Keys concert.
The band’s current world tour finds them playing at this year’s Austin City Limits Festival on October 12 before heading down to Mexico for Festival Corona Capital 2012 with the likes of Florence and the Machine, My Morning Jacket and Miike Snow on October 13.
