Next week, the tribute disc “Just Tell Me That You Want Me” will be released in honor of none other than the great rock band Fleetwood Mac. The band, named for Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, has had its fair share of members, but now mainly consists of its namesakes, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks. Famous for their inter-member drama, yet ability to produce great music, the group has 17 studio albums including the notable “Rumours” and has been on 16 tours thus far and are supposedly planning one for 2013.

Consisting of 17 tracks, the CD will highlight some of the greatest hits of the band’s 45 year career thus far. It will feature the talents of MGMT, Lykke Li, and Best Coast among others covering songs spanning from “Landslide” and “Dreams” to “Albatross” and “Sisters of the Moon.”

The CD will also feature two bonus tracks. One of these tracks, just released for listening, will be a cover of “The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)” by the Entrance Band. The Entrance Band, consisting of Guy Blakeslee, Paz Lenchantin, and Derek James, are known for their psychedelic rock sound. After playing at a bar called The Hideout for 18 months, Blakeslee finally gained attention and was signed to Tiger Style Records. The group has 4 albums and 1 EP and have preformed amongst the ranks of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, and Will Oldham.

The song, originally written by Peter Green, was released by the band in 1970 and is said to be based on a type of LSD done by Green right before he withdrew from the group. However, Green sticks by his idea that the song represents money represented by the devil, an idea that came to him during a drug-induced dream. The Entrance Band’s cover does not stray far from it’s original. The band chose to stick closer to its origins while using their psychedelic style to further enhance each pitch and section of the song. It brings a new identity to the table, but pays homage to the genius of the band it comes from.
