As we look forward to their appearance at Lollapalooza (and you enter for the chance to FLY-IN YOUR FRIENDS) this summer, in typical Shins style, their new video for “No Way Down” channels a beautiful simplicity.

It begins with recording studio chatter and idyllic shots of a lush Portland, Oregon forest that goes well with the song’s primordial bassline and onslaught of cowbell. The rest of the video is just like the Shins’ video for “Bait and Switch,” likely both shot during the same studio jam session.

Watch “No Way Down” below.

The Portland band loves to keep it close to home. Frontman James Mercer said that in the five years between 2012′s Port of Morrow and 2007′s Wincing The Night Away, he worked not only had two daughters with wife Marisa Kula and founded Broken Bells with Danger Mouse, but he also perfected the art of cooking mussels. Just like a Shins song, it’s a simple dish that doesn’t require a lot to be beautiful.
