We also played songs from a couple of the artists that will be appearing this coming weekend at Chicagoland’s next blues festival. 1962 with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Hubert Sumlin[/lastfm] on guitar.

SHEMEKIA COPELAND – CIRCUMSTANCES

Shemekia will be performing at the Blues on the Fox Festival this Saturday in Aurora  along with The Chicago Blues: A Living History Group, The Lee Boys, and The Neville Brothers. This song is from her 2009 release, Never Going Back.

BILLY BRANCH, BILLY FLYNN, FELTON CREWS, KENNY SMITH – HOODOO MAN BLUES – CHICAGO BLUES: A LIVING HISTORY.

Key players in this project will be performing together at the Blues on the Fox Festival this Saturday in Aurora. That includes Billy Branch, Billy Boy Arnold, Lurrie Bell, John Primer and Carlos Johnson.

HOWLIN’ WOLF – NEW CRAWLIN’ KING SNAKE

Recorded in Chicago in 1966 featuring Eddie Shaw on sax.

LIL’ED AND THE BLUES IMPERIALS – IF YOU WERE MINE

From their brand new album, Jump Start. After a very busy weekend, Lil’ Ed and the band are off doing some out of town gigs. They’ll be back around in mid July.

Otis Taylor and his band will be appearing at FitzGerald’s 32nd Annual American Music Festival on Sunday, July 2. This song is from the 2010 album, Clovis People, Vol. 3.

PINETOP PERKINS AND WILLIE “BIG EYES” SMITH – GROWN UP TO BE A MAN

From the Grammy winnig 2012 album, Joined at the Hip, featuring, among others, Little Frank on guitar, Kenny Smith on drums, and Bob Stroger on bass, all of whom played at the Blues Fest in a tribute to Willie, Pinetop and Mojo Buford.

SHARON LEWIS AND THE TEXAS FIRE – WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON

Sharon and the band will be performing at the Harlem Avenue Lounge this Saturday night. This song is from Sharon’s latest album, The Real Deal.
