As we prepare for Wilco‘s upcoming XRT 4D Concert, here’s a stream of “Sky Blue Sky” covered by The Hudson Branch.
Following the release of their latest album, World Kid, The Hudson Branch jumped back into the studio and created a refreshing, soul version of Wilco’s “Sky Blue Sky”.
The young Chicago band was inspired to try a new way of making music after watching the Paul Simon documentary “Graceland.” After recording this Wilco cover, Bienert reported that they are looking forward to starting work on a new project of soul-inspired original material.
The Hudson Branch, “Sky Blue Sky” (Wilco Cover)
“We love Wilco and this track is one of their best. Instead of doing a mediocre remake of it – we decided to have some fun and draw on our love of Motown while covering it,” says THB’s vocalist Cobey Bienert.
