Shemekia will be the co-host along with me, Tom Marker, for our annual Blues Breakers Blues Fest Broadcast from Buddy Guy’s Legends. We’ll also have live performances by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Joe Louis Walker[/lastfm] and his band and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ronnie Baker Brooks[/lastfm] and his band and our very special guest will be [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Billy Branch[/lastfm]. SHEMEKIA COPELAND – NEVER GOING BACK TO MEMPHIS
From the 2009 Album by Shemekia, Never Going Back. Shemekia has graciously accepted our invitation to be the co-host of this year’s annual Blues Breakers Blues Fest Broadcast. It will begin at 6:00 o’clock on Thursday, June 7. We’ll be broadcasting live from Buddy Guy’s legends. The event also stars Joe Louis Walker and his band, Ronnie Baker Brooks and his band, and features special guest, Billy Branch. Be there, there’s no cover, or hear it on 93XRT.
JOE LOUIS WALKER – I WON’T DO THAT
Joe and his band will be starring in our live Blues Breakers Blues Fest Broadcast from Buddy Guy’s Legends on Thursday, June 7. He’ll then be at the Crossroads Stage at the Chicago Blues Festival on Friday, June 8, at 4:15PM, and at S.P.A.C.E. on the Saturday of Blues Fest weekend, June 9. This song is from Joe’s new record, Hellfire.
LIL’ ED AND THE BLUES IMPERIALS – IF YOU WERE MINE
This song is the lead track on a very new album by Ed and the band, Jump Start. They’ll be playing Blues Fest Friday at Rosa’s, they’ll be at the fest on Sunday at 4:15 on the Crossroads Stage, and they’ll headline the Sunday night line-up at Legends.
RONNIE BAKER BROOKS – MAKE THESE BLUES SURVIVE
Ronnie and his band will be starring in our live Blues Breakers Blues Fest Broadcast from Buddy Guy’s Legends on Thursday, June 7. Ronnie will be playing FitzGerald’s on the Friday of Blues Fest weekend (June 8). This song is from Chicago Blues, A Living History: The Revolution Continues.

A song Shemekia’s father, Johnny Clyde Copeland wrote that appeared on her debut album Turn The Heart Up, which came out in 1998 when she was 19 years old.
BILLY BRANCH – PAY OR STAY
Billy will be our very special guest in our live Blues Breakers Blues Fest Broadcast from Buddy Guy’s Legends on Thursday, June 7. He’ll be back at Legends headlining a great line-up on Friday of Blues Fest weekend, and he’ll be headlining the Crossroads Stage at Blues Fest on Saturday the 9th. ROCKIN’ JOHNNY – GRIM REAPER
Johnny and his band will be part of the 5th Annual Blues Fest After Party at Reggie’s on Saturday, June 9, along with Studebaker John, Jimmy Burns, Eddie Taylor, Jr. and others. This song is from Johnny’s new album, Grim Reaper.
