While most of Chicago is focused on ice hockey and Game Six of the Western Conference Playoffs between the Blackhawks and the Coyotes, another kind of hockey is gaining popularity. There may not be fist fights in this small-scale version of the game, but more and more people are playing table hockey. The game, once popular in the ’70s, is being played by young and old, male and female. The Wall Street Journal reports that North American high schools and bars are even having table hockey tournaments and the Elite Eight Canadian Table Hockey Championships just had it’s best attended tournament in decades.
