Kiss
The borders of rock can be indistinct. Bob Marley is reggae, but there is no question that rock informed his music as well. Buddy Guy influenced Jimi, and vice-versa. The Stones sang Motown and Detroit was listening back. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reflects this blurry wonder of cross-fertilization by accepting almost every musician and group, including those who have no connection whatsoever with rock and or roll. The Hall is also inclusive to a fault with lots of footnotes, minor players and one-hit wonders on the roster.
You could argue pro and con for Kiss (and the Hall has said con so far), but Gene Simmons makes some good points here.
