Neil Young & Crazy Horse Announce New Album Title & Release Date

[pullquote quote=”They’re songs we all know from kindergarten, but Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and they now belong to us.” credit=”Neil Young”]Neil Young & Crazy Horse have recorded a new album of classic American folk songs and thanks to Rolling Stone, we now know the name of the album and the release date.  Americana will be out on June 5.  “This Land Is Your Land,” “Clementine,” and “Oh! Susannah,” are a few of the titles that, honestly, may not make you explode out of your seat with excitement, but Neil has said that, “They’re songs we all know from kindergarten, but Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and they now belong to us.”  Neil is one of the coolest artists rock ‘n’ roll has ever known, so if he wants to take songs some of us haven’t thought of in 30 or 40 years and turn ’em into something special with his old buddies, I’m all for it.

Enjoy the a 37 minute video from his recent Crazy Horse jam session.

During the jam, we hear a little bit of “F**kin’ Up” before a sweet version of “Cortez The Killer” about twenty minutes in.
