[photogallerylink id=31956 align=left]We’ve been told by Billy Joe that Green Day’s latest full length endeavor will be far from the rock opera that we know as American Idiot. According to the infamous front man, the latest album will focus on sex, plain and simple. It’s an area, surprisingly enough, that the band hasn’t explored musically. He went on to say that the album will be a departure from the past two albums in that it will “rock harder.”
The lastest in series of short videos on Green Day’s YouTube channel shows the band in studio. But it’s not a typical video. Shot in, or later converted to black and white, the video clip has two relatively transparent layers running simultaneously. One layer shows suburban city buildings whizzing by as the other layer features the band in studio. The most audible line in the piece is from one of the band mates saying “Something to throw you for a bit of a loop.”
Is the band being cryptic, artistic or just messing with the fans just because they can?

Although the band confirmed their first live dates of 2012 will be headlining shows at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival and France’s Rock En Seine in August, no North American dates have been released.
