If you think you’re having a crappy day, at least you’re not having the day that snowboarder Danny Toumarkine had on January 3, 2011.  Sometimes people say that the worst day _______ is better than the best day working.  Fill in the blank with whatever your passion may be, and for the most part that’s a true statement.  However, on 1/3/11, seemingly out of nowhere, Danny’s life almost came to an end doing something he could probably do with his eyes closed.  Hitting the kind of jump he’d done thousands of times before, he came down and hit his head.  Without a helmet.  A two week coma, over a month’s stay in the hospital, four brain surgeries and one year later he was able to hit the jumps again.  This time with a helmet.
