[photogallerylink id=114422 align=left]How can a band that has performed only one show to date generate enough buzz to have their upcoming album be named the number one most anticipated release of 2012 by Paste Magazine? Simple, take members of Deer Tick, Black Lips, Los Lobos, and a few other groups and have them jam in a Nashville studio for several hours.
Diamond Rugs, “Gimmie A Beer” [DOWNLOAD]
Diamond Rugs have gained much notoriety in a rather unconventional, yet effective manner. Band members John McCauley, Ian Saint Pe, and Hardy Morris sent copies of their CD singles to over 50 strip clubs and received much play and praise after hearing the recordings. A live video from the group’s only performance in Atlanta of their single “Gimme A Beer” displays the type of organized chaos and energy of the group. As if it were a Noah’s Ark of rock bands, the group effectively mixes all of their melodies together and combines this with their exuberant energy to put on an incredibly entertaining performance.
The group’s self-titled debut album will be released on April 24th through Partisan Records.
