[photogallerylink id=102254 align=left]Aside from the album being The Stone’s biggest-selling album in the Unite States, the British rockers really prove that they can take any music genre and completely own it. While Jagger emphasizes the idea that he was inspired by disco and dance music, you can easily tell that the band touched on a plethora of different genres; “Far Away Eyes” has it’s country twang,”Beast of Burden” “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me),” and “Miss You,” keep it smooth, jazzy, and funky, and “Shattered,” Some Girls,” and “Lies” prove that The Stones are still prolific in their raw rock and roll roots. Some Girls is just all around an amazing record. Jagger’s heartfelt lyrics with outstanding guitar and basswork by Wood, Richards, and Watts, and Wyman bringing his expertise on the drums. The re-release is scheduled to hit shelves on November 21 and would be a great kickoff for a Stones 50th anniversary tour next year…
Universal Music Group will release a deluxe reissue of the Rolling Stones’ 1978 album, Some Girls, on November 21st. Widely regarded as one of the band’s greatest albums, the deluxe version will feature 2 CD’s featuring rare content.
“No Spare Parts” is one of twelve bonus tracks that have been unearthed for inclusion on the forthcoming deluxe and super deluxe. Other never-heard-before tracks featured on the Some Girls reissue will include ‘We Had It All’, ‘I Love You Too Much’ and ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’.
Thirty-three years on from its original release, the re-mastered, expanded, Deluxe edition of Some Girls shows why the 1978 album has often been hailed as the equal of Exile On Main Street. Some Girls is both a time capsule and a timeless listen. It features the band at their tightest and toughest, at their most vibrant and vital. It’s an all-killer, no-filler, must-have album. It still packs a punch.
