2 – Radiohead (1985-present)

[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Radiohead[/lastfm] are the second band on our list and while they don’t borrow as many elements from Gabriel’s catalog as [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Phish[/lastfm], we can definitely feel Gabriel‘s influence and presence on the bands massively successful album OK Computer, where the band experimented with the Moog & Mellotron; a staple of that classic [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Genesis[/lastfm] sound. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Radiohead[/lastfm]‘s apparent influence from Gabriel is that although the band has stated that some of their music has been influenced by Gabriel‘s work, they are simply just not exactly “fans.” Listen closely to the signature Mellotron in action during a live performance of the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Radiohead[/lastfm] song Exit Music (For a Film), off 1997′s OK Computer.
