[photogallerylink id=48605 align=left] [mp3com-artist]Paul Simon[/mp3com-artist] celebrates his 70th birthday on October 13, 2011 but he’s not slowing down. He is, however, taking a look back to reflect on his past.
Simon returned to South Africa in July to perform with [mp3com-artist]Ladysmith Black Mambazo[/mp3com-artist] and trumpeter [mp3com-artist]Hugh Masekela[/mp3com-artist], with whom he collaborated on his Graceland album in 1986. Another noteworthy collaborator, [mp3com-artist]Miriam Makeba[/mp3com-artist], passed away of a heart attack in 2008.
Simon’s planning a Graceland reunion tour for 2012. Billboard magazine reports a Graceland box set will include video footage from the concert in South Africa with Masekela and Ladysmith. Paul Simon is also preparing for the release of Songwriter on October 24, 2011. Seventy and going strong - Simon fans have a lot to look forward to!
