[photogallerylink id=38480 align=left]Paul Rappaport of Classics Du Jour sat down recently with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Pink Floyd[/lastfm] guitarist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]David Gilmour[/lastfm] on his house boat/recording studio Astoria in September 2011 to talk about the making of The Dark Side of the Moon. Topics included the band’s musical influence and legacy, origins of some of their best-known songs, and the unique talent and contributions of the various bandmembers. Gilmour also plays passages from some of Pink Floyd’s best-known songs. The interview comes in the midst of the massive Pink Floyd reissue campaign currently underway called “Why Pink Floyd?”
The Dark Side of the Moon will be reissued on Sept. 26 in both a two-disc “Experience” edition and a massive six-disc “Immersion” set, as well as in vinyl and digital versions. Additional reissues and collections are scheduled through 2011 and 2012.
