Summer Sessions: Alberta Cross Gives A “Rolling Thunder” Preview

 [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alberta Cross [/lastfm]are the latest band to come to the Last.fm Discover studios for a Summer Session, and they did so in anticipation of new music being released on Sept. 27. The band’s five-song Rolling Thunder EP will give us a taste of what to expect on their full-length album, which is due in early 2012. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alberta Cross [/lastfm]released their debut full-length album Broken Side Of Time in the U.S. in January of last year. They spent quite a good chunk of time on the road, opening for[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Mumford & Sons[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Oasis[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Black Rebel Motorcycle Club [/lastfm]and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Them Crooked Vultures[/lastfm]. For a month, starting on Sept. 28 in Santa Clara, CA, the day after the release of The Rolling Thunder EP, they’ll support [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Portugal. The Man [/lastfm]for 22 shows. The forthcoming album was written in Woodstock, NY and recorded at EASTWEST in Hollywood, CA and produced by Joe Chiccarelli. “Money For The Weekend” will be on the EP and album, and is getting some good exposure in a new Ketel One Vodka TV ad campaign that you can see here, directed by David O. Russell.
