[photogallerylink id=94012 align=left]Born in Dublin, Ireland, [lastfm]Imelda May[/lastfm] is a very talented and unique artist that is very different to the normal pop culture tends. Imelda May handed out independent CDs in hopes of making it big. In 2007 many people noticed her talent and she was nominated for an award as Best Burlesque Singer as well as the release of her official debut, Love Tattoo. Love Tattoo reached number 1 in Ireland and in January 2010, she performed at the 52nd Grammy Awards.
She then released her third studio album, Mayhem, in Ireland on September 3, 2010 and that also reached number 1 in the Irish Album Charts. Recently May has contributed a cover of Buddy Holly’s “I’m Looking for Someone to Love” for the upcoming tribute album, Listen to Me: Buddy Holly to be released on September 6th, 2011.
