Fitz and the Tantrums create a soulful rock sound that is impossible to resist. Their big single, Moneygrabber, has you dancing in your seat every time you hear it on XRT, even if you’re not sitting. Don’t deny it. Marked by anybody with two ears as THE band to watch in 2011, F&tT rolled into Lollapalooza and in up to our studio to play a couple of their biggest hits.
He started with “Breakin’ the Chains of Love”, written the same night he bought the organ. Desire for a horn section and other instruments began to creep through the cracks, so in comes Fitzpatrick’s college buddy James King, and with a few more phone calls, Fitz and The Tantrums was born.
Early 2009 marked the birth of the band’s first EP, Songs For A Breakup, Vol. 1, which got a hefty amount of radio play on local LA radio stations.
