[photogallerylink id=36102 align=left]It seems as if Ryan Adams is a little preoccupied with Vampires lately, and we’re not talking the Edward Cullen variety, we’re talking Weekend Vampires, or rather, [lastfm]Vampire Weekend[/lastfm], the New York City indie band led by Ezra Koenig whose happy little melodies have skyrocketed them to commerical and critical success. And it seems like the band has some musican-fans as well, including country/rock singer/songwriter and profound lyricist [lastfm]Ryan Adams[/lastfm] who has recently been releasing videos of himself covering songs from Vamp Weekend’s self-titled debut album.
He started out with a video of himself covering “Mansard Roof,” and then a few days later a clip of Adams covering “Oxford Comma” started circulating around the internet. The latest? He’s covered the biggest hit and third song from Vampire Weekend, “A Punk.” The significance? There might be more coming, as the three songs he has released covers of thus far are the first three songs from the album, IN ORDER.
[photogallerylink id=51175 align=left]Will he finish the album? Well, he’s not saying anything, but we’re going to keep watching his on his Facebook page, (where you can see all of the thus-far realeased videos) for more, because the covers we’ve heard more than do the album justice.
