27. Story Of The Jazz Trumpet – Charlie Shavers
This goes back to the 1950′s. Very cool jazz class for you and the kids. Lots of name checks and demonstrations of different trumpet styles. It’s narrated by Al “Jazzbo” Collins with Charlie doing good musical impersonations of artists from Louis Armstrong to Dizzy Gillespie. Charlie was a great swing trumpet player who worked for awhile in Tommy Dorsey’s band. This song is on various compilations. Not on itunes or Amazon, but I know you can find it. Worth the effort.
